CAMDEN LAY-ON SHAKER

Estimated cabinetry cost £17,000-£22,000 ex. VAT

Our client had one specific wish, that we didn’t design the whole kitchen in their beautiful newly extended room. Rather than taking down the wall separating two rooms to create a large open plan kitchen we so often get asked for, we kept the wall thus dividing the kitchen into two functional individually used spaces.

PROJECT DETAILS

This hit the brief perfectly as we designed the back room for more functional cooking, with good prep space and the main sink nicely tucked away where all the hard work could be carried out without any evidence of a messy work station. This prep kitchen has a full height Integrated fridge and freezer, two single ovens and plenty of open shelving for a pantry feel for all the dry goods storage. We love a pantry, it’s both practical and stylish and very much on trend at the moment. Hand painted with T&G back panels, beaded shelves each one with LED lighting under gives this pantry a little extra wow factor.

The island is placed in the adjacent large room and was designed as an entertaining station. With a small prep sink, under-counter integrated fridge with ice box and induction hob with downdraft extraction it really is the perfect party space. The Quooker tap with cube is fitted on the island so hot and cold drinks can also be prepared away from the main prep kitchen and with seating up to four stools and a beautiful view of the rolling hills and garden it’s truly a space to enjoy.

The colour was very important for this project. Two very different spaces both needed a colour that would work in a smaller enclosed space and a large bright open space, it had to be vibrant yet subtle? A contradiction perhaps, but we felt it had to be the same colour for both areas to connect the two spaces. The colour Teal by Zoffany was chosen together with polished nickel Queslett handles and drawer pulls by Armac Martin and Nile Carrara Quartz worktops for a soft finish that works perfectly with the light grey walls.

KIND WORDS

“Thank you so much for our beautiful kitchen and pantry.

From the day I walked into your little showroom where you showed me your previous kitchens and the workshop downstairs, I knew I really wanted a Shaker and May kitchen. We are delighted to now have the kitchen of our dreams.

The attention and customer service we have received have been exceptional. The workmanship in the making of the kitchen is of the very highest standard and it shows in every detail from the dovetail joints in the drawers to the carefully and quietly closing doors.

Justin and Harry made a dynamic team, fitting our kitchen carefully and efficiently, clearing up at the end of each day and were great company and a good addition to our already busy work crew.

Everyone who has viewed our kitchen has commented on the great choice of colour. To be able to choose from such a wide range of paint colours led us to choose our very beautiful and elegant teal kitchen.

Thank you, Shaker and May, to the whole team, for providing us such amazing service, product and a kitchen to die for.”
